Categories:Diablo4

Diablo 4 Season 1 is slated to commence in mid-July, approximately a month after the game's launch. This timeframe allows players sufficient time to complete the game's story mode, which is a prerequisite for accessing the new content.

Blizzard has announced that players must create a new character to access the fresh content that will accompany Season 1. The company also plans to host a Diablo dev livestream on the game's official YouTube and Twitch channels on July 6, 2023. According to Blizzard's press statement, the livestream will provide information on Diablo Immortal, including the launch of a new class and additional quality-of-life updates.

Players across the globe can now access Diablo 4 and embark on a journey to explore Sanctuary, build formidable character abilities, and vanquish the demon Lilith. Currently, only the game's launch content is available to fans, which includes a rich story mode and various endgame and PvP activities to conquer.

However, some fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the game's first season, which promises a plethora of new content. While completing Diablo 4's story and conquering all endgame and PvP activities is no easy feat, the prospect of fresh content and challenges in the upcoming season has fans eagerly anticipating what's to come.

Release Date

Diablo 4 fans can look forward to the arrival of Season 1, which is expected to commence in mid-July, more than a month after the game's release. This time frame allows players ample time to complete the game's story mode, which is a prerequisite to accessing the new content. Although an exact date has yet to be announced, the game's general manager, Rod Fergusson, has confirmed that an update will be provided next week.

Season 1 promises to offer an array of new content, including new questlines with new and returning characters, tweaks to class and gameplay item balances, new legendary items, and additional gameplay features, among other things. However, players must first complete the Diablo 4 campaign mode with at least one character on their account to enjoy all that Season 1 has to offer. Blizzard recommends that players complete this requirement in advance, so they can dive straight into Season 1 upon its release.

Season 1 Battlepass

In addition to the new content, Season 1 will feature Diablo 4's first-ever battle pass. Blizzard has clarified that the battle pass will be an optional feature, and players will have access to multiple free tiers of content (27 tiers). Players who opt for the battle pass will gain access to both the 27 free tiers and an additional 63 premium tiers.

Each quarterly season will also come with a new battle pass, offering players a choice of three options:

Free tier - This is the standard tier and will be available for all players at no cost. Although it offers limited items, players can still progress through 27 tiers.

Premium tier - The first paid tier costs approximately $10 and features 63 tiers to work through.

Accelerated tier - This is the most expensive option, priced around $25, and includes all the exclusive content available. Players who choose this option will unlock twenty tier skips and a unique cosmetic item.

New Character

Blizzard has announced that with the beginning of Season 1, players will have to create a new character, which has been met with mixed reactions from the community. However, players who have completed the game's story mode with at least one character can skip the campaign and dive straight into the new content. Moreover, they will retain access to any Waypoints, Renown, Diablo 4 Gold, Altars of Lilith, and map discoveries achieved in previous playthroughs, making it easier for them to continue their journey in Diablo 4.
